The objective of the studies is:
- To educate engineers holding a master's degree with advanced knowledge in mechanics and related sciences, automation and robotics, machine element technology, plastic processing, welding, automotive engineering, and computer-aided engineering work.
- To develop high-level design skills and advanced abilities in utilizing machines for material processing and machining of machine elements, thermal energy machinery, and modern programming tools for both design and technology.
- To prepare graduates for solving complex research and innovative problems.
- To equip graduates with the ability to lead engineering teams, take managerial positions in production structures, and continuously improve their qualifications.
- To prepare graduates for both independent and team-based research work, discussions on research results, and formulation of engineering problems.
A graduate of second-cycle studies possesses advanced knowledge and skills necessary to understand issues related to the construction, manufacturing, and operation of machines. The graduate is a creative specialist in implementing modern technologies.
The graduate is prepared to:
- Carry out and creatively develop manufacturing, assembly, and operational processes.
- Support machine design, selection of engineering materials used as machine components, and supervision of their operation.
- Work in a team, especially in leadership roles.
- Coordinate work processes and evaluate their results.
- Efficiently use modern computer techniques and share expertise with the team
The graduate is prepared to work in any sector of the industry, particularly in:
- Machine industry enterprises and other companies involved in manufacturing and machine operation.
- Design, construction, and technology units, as well as organizations dealing with production management and automation of technological processes.
- Technical inspection units for products and materials, accreditation, and certification bodies.
- Research and consulting institutions.
- Other economic, administrative, and educational units requiring technical and IT knowledge.
Education areas
MODELLING & SIMULATION IN MECHANICS
Students of Modelling and Simulation in Mechanics gain knowledge in advanced material mechanics (solids, fluids, composite materials such as polymers), as well as the dynamics of technical systems and their mathematical description, enabling modeling and simulations.
The program consists of courses covering various branches of mechanics, whose integration allows solving complex mechanical problems of practical significance. Within the chosen field, students acquire knowledge of different methods and advanced engineering techniques, become familiar with commercial software, and learn how to conduct a thorough analysis of simulation results.
The knowledge acquired by students is based on fundamental principles of mechanics, material strength, fluid mechanics, optimization, and numerical methods.
The Modelling and Simulation in Mechanics program provides:
- A high level of education based on European Union standards.
- Access to modern commercial software used in the industry.
- Access to state-of-the-art, well-equipped laboratories.
- The opportunity to participate in research projects of experimental, theoretical, and numerical nature, allowing students to gain additional knowledge and experience in solving practical engineering problems.
- The possibility to study at partner universities abroad.
- Opportunities for industrial internships (including international ones) at partner industrial companies and research institutes.
- Visits to industrial plants aimed at familiarizing students with practical engineering issues.
